Quad Kids Merseyside Champions!
Last week, 8 children from Ravenscroft went to Kirkby High School to compete in the Knowsley Quad Kids competition. They performed with their usual level of enthusiasm and dedication and deservedly won the Knowsley title. Following on from this, a squad of 10 children were in action again this week, representing Knowsley at the Merseyside Summer Games in Wavertree. The children competed in the Quad Kids event against the winning teams from the 5 other Merseyside boroughs. They displayed commitment, perseverance and remarkable talent, finishing in first place as Merseyside Champions. A fantastic performance from: Katie P, Charli S, Josh D, Daniel S, Becky K, Josef V, Mikey M, Sophie L K, Chloe McC, Lewis McG

Knowsley Active Challenge 2016
Last night 12 children went to Lord Derby’s estate to take part in the Knowsley Active Challenge 2016. They joined with other children from across the Merseyside area, to run a 2km road race through the grounds of the estate. Cheered on by family and friends, all of the children, as always, did themselves and Ravenscroft proud and finished ahead of many older (up to age 16) and more experienced runners. A very special well done must go to Michael Marsh who had said earlier in the day that he was going to win the Year3/4 race and, true to his word, he did just that, being one of the fastest runners overall. Fantastic Mikey! The race last night wasn’t just about winning, it was a fun run in the local community and the children were exceptional.
Congratulations to all of the children who took part and many thanks to parents, grandparents and friends who have supported them and me throughout this year’s cross country season. I am very proud of the children’s achievements and of the commitment and dedication that they have demonstrated during training and in races. Finally, it is with sadness that we will be saying goodbye to our Year 6 runners as they leave at the end of term for secondary school. Your achievements in cross country are outstanding and winning all 3 Kirbky cups is a fitting way to finish your cross country running at Ravenscroft. You all have exceptional talent and I hope that you continue running with the same level of commitment and enthusiasm that you have shown over the last few years. Well done and thank you to all of you.
Well done in the Active Challenge: Katie Piercy, Rebecca Knox, Charli Stubbs, Daniel Smith, Lewis McGrath, Nathan Roberts, Michael Marsh, John McGrath, Natalie Piercy, Meeka Scott, Alfie Kent, Jack McGrath
