BBC Bitesize – Suitable for KS2

A cartoon explaining beat and rhythm and goes on to show how body percussion can be used to create a piece of music.

Explains beat and tempo and goes on to talk about Beethoven and his 5th Symphony.  Music from the 5th Symphony is played throughout.

Melody and pitch.  A very short interactive game to match high and low pitches.

Harmony and chords. A video about Kerry Andrew’s song by the Ten Pieces Children’s Choir.

Texture. A short cartoon that explains texture which is followed by a performance of a piece of music called Homelands.

Camerata Mini Music Makers

This takes place ‘live’ every Tuesday and Thursday at 10.30am and is suitable for lower KS2 (aimed at 5 – 7 year olds)

Episode 9 Key Stage 2. You won’t need anything for this this episode, just enjoy!

Episode 10 Key Stages 1 and 2 Instruments – French Horn, Violin, Piano, Tuba.  All the musicians come together to present this last episode of the series.

You will need (remember if you haven’t got these things, you can still enjoy watching the show.) Metal pot or pan, metal spoon/ladle, metal bottles, things to make a North Pole collage.  Kate uses tissue paper, cotton wool biscuit wrappers and tin foil, but you can use whatever you have.
