September 2025 Admissions

The  online application portal for Knowsley residents to apply for secondary school transfer and reception class admission for September 2025 is open from 12 Sept via the school admission pages of the Knowsley Council website

Secondary transfer

• The application closing date is 31 October 2024
• A letter was issued in August to the home address of your registered year 6 pupils making parents aware of the application process. (For Knowsley resident children the letter included a unique ID code that can be input on the application portal to match the application to LA records for the child – but parents can still make an online application without the UID.)

Reception class admission

• The application closing date is 15 January 2025
• Parents should visit the primary school admission pages of the Knowsley Council website for more information Apply for primary school for September 2025 | Knowsley Council and should read the primary composite prospectuses at Primary school admission – composite prospectus 2025-26.pdf (knowsley.gov.uk) 
• Own admission authority schools who request that applicants complete supplementary forms (to provide faith or other information specific to their oversubscription criteria) should ensure they have robust processes in place for parents to obtain and return these forms directly to school – there is information published on the council website at Supplementary Information Forms | Knowsley Council

Nursery class admissions

• Schools with a nursery class continue to receive directly and administer applications for nursery class admission.
• General information in respect of nursery admission – including the oversubscription criteria for community schools and academies who adopted these arrangements, and the application form to be used by community schools (other schools are also welcome to use this form if they wish)  is available at Applying for admission to school nursery classes | Knowsley Council
